NCDIT Issues RFP for AI Platforms & Services

The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP No. 800000 000) for generative artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and related services for state government use.

The solicitation is a key step in carrying out North Carolina’s AI Strategic Roadmap. Among other recommendations, the Roadmap calls on state government to modernize and build trustworthy ways to use AI tools to improve services and deliver better results for the people of North Carolina.

The RFP also reflects the Roadmap’s commitments to preparing the state workforce. Alongside the technology, the RFP seeks implementation support, AI literacy, and job-specific training so state employees can use these tools safely and with confidence. Tools acquired through the award will operate within the state’s existing AI governance, including the N.C. State Government Responsible Use of AI Framework and Executive Order 24.

“We’re always looking for ways to deliver government services to North Carolinians better and faster,” said NCDIT Secretary and State Chief Information Officer Nate Denny. “By giving agencies a simpler path to secure, trusted AI tools, we can help our employees spend more time serving the people of our state.”

The RFP is now open on the state’s Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP). Vendor questions are due November 9, 2026, and proposals are due November 30, 2026. Interested vendors should refer to the solicitation for full requirements and instructions.
