CySure appoints cyber specialists EnterpriseRed as a new security and compliance reseller partner in the UK

Collaborative partnership to help organisations improve compliance and cyber security awareness amongst workforce

CySure’s solution cuts through the fog, with clear guidance and support for organisations throughout the GDPR compliance process.”

— Ian Kennedy-Compston, CEO, EnterpriseRed

LONDON, UK, November 7, 2018 / — Cyber security specialist CySure Ltd has appointed EnterpriseRed as a specialist reseller partner in the UK further extending Cysure’s international network of partners across the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the USA and the UK. The Berkshire-based cybersecurity experts will resell CySure’s information security management system, Virtual Online Security Officer (VOSO).

After conducting a review of their solution portfolio, EnterpriseRed identified a gap for an information security management system to assist with compliance. CySure’s VOSO solution was chosen as it enables customers to manage and demonstrate their compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) simply and effectively. VOSO incorporates both US NIST and UK CE cyber security standards to guide enterprises through the compliance process ensuring the right steps are taken to keep data secure and organisations compliant.

Ian Kennedy-Compston, CEO of EnterpriseRed said, “There is a lot of misinformation about GDPR and the cost and complexity of becoming compliant. CySure’s solution cuts through the fog, with clear guidance and support for organisations throughout the process. We see VOSO as adding significant value to the GDPR process spreadsheet completion and envisage this product will significantly assist our customers going forward.”
CySure has been accepted onto the UK Government’s G-Cloud 10 digital marketplace. As part of that process the security component of the GDPR was mapped into VOSO, providing an easy to follow, staged approach to GDPR along with all the policies and training videos necessary to complete the compliance process.

Joe Collinwood, Chief Executive Officer of CySure added, “The partnership with EnterpriseRed was borne from a joint philosophy that achieving safety and compliance doesn’t have to be a costly or complex undertaking. However, many small to medium enterprises (SMEs) still don’t have the bandwidth to address this matter enterprisered.coeffectively despite the risk of data breaches. By utilising VOSO, organisations can enjoy the benefit of a powerful information security management system which interprets government and industry standards to ensure the right steps are taken to keep data safe and the organisation compliant. By partnering with EnterpriseRed, Cysure continues to extend its footprint in the UK market and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”

Data Firm Spicule Puts the Power of Analytics Store Used by Netflix in Customers’ Hands.

Druid logo

Harness the power of Apache Druid

We’ve followed the evolution of Druid in the open source community, and it’s proved to be an incredibly powerful solution.”

— Tom Barber CEO

NORWICH, NORFOLK, UNITED KINGDOM, November 7, 2018 / — Data-driven companies can now harness the power of Apache Druid, the analytics store utilised by Netflix, Airbnb and PayPal, thanks to open-source software experts, Spicule.
The high-performing, scalable, Apache-licensed product allows organisations to drill down into their data in real-time, empowering users to search, filter and aggregate information. The combination architecture of time series databases, online analytical processing (OLAP) and search systems make for a compelling business intelligence offer. However, Druid is notoriously difficult to install and maintain, so Spicule has developed an implementation and consultancy offer to give organisations the opportunity to leverage this innovative data product.

Why use Druid for your data?

There are several key reasons that Druid found favour with big names like Netflix, Lyft, Airbnb and PayPal.

– Customer behaviour insights

For a company like Airbnb, the analysis of user behaviour and their interactions with the site are vital. Druid functionality allows them to get specific insights, interact with users in real-time, track marketing campaigns and understand why they make the choices they make.

– Real-time operational metrics

Netflix operates a vast number of servers and collects billions of data events every day. This data contains crucial insights for the streaming giant, and they want to be able to collate, query and use it in real-time. Netflix also wants to refine and resolve queries as they come up, and also get real-time insights on customer behaviour. Druid allows them to achieve all this in seconds, giving them the ability to fix and solve performance issues fast and understand precisely what’s going wrong at the service endpoint.

– Multi-dimensional filtering

A great example of this functionality is smart cities, where sensors are deployed at a large scale across the entire designated area. These sensors measure all aspects of city life, including things like traffic, footfall, temperature, pollution, weather, energy consumption etc. – which are all fed back to Druid. In their clusters, the user can store data inside segments by using timestamps, dimensions (like area, campaign, device etc.) and metric (the counter or aggregation – like clicks, impressions, etc.). This data allows companies to design bespoke aggregations to deliver the insights they need.

– Marketing campaign and product insights

Rising above the usual click and user data, Druid clusters can be used to get granular about how a specific campaign, product launch or strategy is performing. Marketing teams can use this data to do A/B testing and to gain insight into the success of a campaign. PayPal, in particular, has written extensively about the way they use A/B testing for product innovations using Druid clusters.

Spicule has the ANSSR for customers.

Big data companies are offered Spicule’s commercial support of Druid clusters through their ANSSR Platform.
Having worked with NASA, Netflix and the UK government on huge analytics projects, Spicule founder Tom Barber has a stellar reputation for using open source solutions to engineer high-performing data analytics solutions.

Spicule’s Druid customers will get:

– Advice on the hardware requirements for their specific use.
– Installation and configuration of their cluster by Spicule, tailored to their firm’s particular needs on the ANSSR platform.
– Proactive maintenance to ensure peak performance of the cluster and immediate upgrading to the latest versions of Druid.
– A support package that involves troubleshooting and 24/7 access to experts for any technical issues.

“We’ve followed the evolution of Druid in the open source community, and it’s proved to be an incredibly powerful solution,” explains Tom Barber. “It doesn’t surprise me that big hitters like Hulu, Time Warner, Walmart and eBay are also using Druid to dig into their data – it’s fault-tolerant, scalable and high-performing. We know it would be a huge resource for big data customers, and it makes sense to offer them the support and consultancy package that will enable them to use it most effectively.”

If you’d like to speak to the Spicule team about their Druid offer, please call +44 (0)1603 327762 or email

United States Taxation and Immigration Law, LLC (N/A:N/A)

As technology is advancing, the legal profession is not exempt. Incorporating technology into a tax law practice can make the practice more efficient and increase client satisfaction.”

— Richard Sam Lehman, Tax Lawyer in Florida

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, November 7, 2018 / — In this third article in a series, noted tax attorney Richard Lehman discusses the advancements and impact of technology upon the tax law practice, and how it is being utilized to enhance the client experience in terms of satisfaction and customer service. As technology reshapes all of modern personal and professional life, the legal profession is no exception. The complete articles will be published on the blog of Richard Lehman at

Technology is advancing, and the legal profession must keep up with these technological and societal changes. Many of us still remember when they first saw a personal computer, when cell phones became widely available, and when cell phones turned into smart phones that have become indispensable for many.

Incorporating technology into a tax law practice can make the practice more efficient and increase client satisfaction. In fact, technology may enable the practitioner to exceed client expectations. Here are a few, simple-to-implement options.

Phone Systems

Phone systems have advanced greatly. A wealth of call forwarding technologies enable clients to call a central number to reach an attorney anywhere. Skype enables you to conduct video conference calls during which you can share a screen and exchange documents.

But with phone forwarding, you may even have a remote answering such as Ruby Receptionists (, which then takes a message or forwards the call to a specified phone number. Other services with great flexibility include Ring Central (, Ooma ( and Jive (

Suddenly a physical office or geographical distance are less important. It has become almost normal for clients to work with law firms at a greater distance from their home or business location. Having an office close to your clients (or close to the courthouse) is suddenly not as critical.

Mr. Lehman notes that this also benefits clients, as they may decide to hire an attorney whose office is not nearby. It affords clients access to much greater legal talent and improved access to quality representation than was once available to them in smaller towns/markets.

What used to be an in-person consultation can now be done by email or a video conference. Since the number of in-person meetings is reduced, the cost to clients is reduced as well.

Virtual Meetings

Getting together for face-to-face meetings with clients can sometimes be difficult, especially when it includes travel. Skype ( and EZ Talks (, and other video systems allow you to offer the experience of a live meeting, which can be much more productive and stimulating than a simple phone call, since human beings communicate to large extent non-verbally, through gestures, facial expressions, etc. Numerous Web-conferencing tools provide such visual and human elements of a live meeting. They allow attendees to communicate, collaborate on documents and even give presentations in real time.

In fact, there are free (or almost free) services with a lot of functionality that are useful for sharing and discussing on-screen documents, giving a presentation, recording and chat capabilities.

Client Portals

Online Client Portals are an option especially for a high-volume practice such as bankruptcy or immigration law. Instead of answering innumerable phone calls with questions such as “What is the status of my case?”, the firm offers access to a Portal where clients can see their exact case status in real time. In fact, password-protected portions of a law firm’s website may be a more secure alternative to email. Clients can access their case information day or night, comment on drafts and get updates on court dates. Examples include Practice Panther ( and One Hub (

Still somewhat expensive due to the cost and complexity of implementation, client portals will undoubtedly proliferate further as the technology matures.

Social Media

Whether you like it or not, Social Media has become inescapable. Review websites like Yelp! or Avvo list Attorneys regardless and allow anybody to post reviews and comments about one’s practice. Further, Facebook creates “inofficial” Facebook pages for professionals, which in effect may force them to set up actual Facebook pages and join their platform. In many cases, the best option for the legal practitioner may be to embrace Social Media and claim the profile to use and control it to their advantage.

Google Maps – Locations

In past, even small problems like “I cannot find your office” could interrupt a client relationship. No more. Today you can put “Directions” on your website to ensure that all clients can find your office easily when they have to. Google Maps can be customized for clients, and also shows the way to related locations to one’s Practice (i.e. Courthouse, Government Offices, etc.). Google Streetview also can show clients what your office building looks like from the outside.

Case Reminders

Everybody is busy. We all receive too many emails. Thus, many messages get lost in the shuffle. Providing communications or updates via email, text message, or voicemail can remind clients of upcoming appointments, deadlines, court dates, etc.

Sharing Information with Clients

Here at our law firm, at the commencement of services, we fully discuss communication preferences with clients. This includes discussing methods for exchanging confidential information and their preferences for receiving other, general communications.

In fact, proactive communications with clients may be an effective marketing tool, such as an alert to a client about regulatory actions that are about to affect their business.

To be continued. – The complete articles will be published on the blog of Richard Lehman at

Nemergent Solutions's technologies support MCOP northbound API

Nemergent Solutions becomes official MCOP API supporter

BILBAO, SPAIN, November 7, 2018 / —

In June 2018, Mission Critical Open Platform (MCOP) released its MCOP Unified Open API (MUOAPI) definition, aimed at providing a neat interface that exposes the main features necessary to build MCPTT-capable client applications. By following this API, APP developers and core SDK developers may find a common place to create interoperable solutions, preventing the need for ad-hoc re-implementations. Similarly, the MCOP Integration API enables the seamless integration of MCPTT SDKs with MCPTT UE vendors. The introduction of this API fosters the compatibility of different MCPTT client applications with different UEs.

All together, MCOP APIs allow the end customer to choose the best-fitting combinations of mission-critical application provider, MCPTT SDK provider and UE provider for each target project.

Traditionally, the mission critical ecosystem has sheltered a reduced amount of stakeholders with proprietary, confined and isolated commercial solutions. However, a new paradigm has emerged with the standardization of Mission Critical Push-to-talk, video and data (MCPTT, MCVideo and MCData as MCX) technologies. In this way, the solutions that are devoted to following the standard could coexist together and interact between them. The standardization has also brought a greater possibility to improve and enhance the technology, resulting in a more prominent innovation capacity.
Even with this evolution, the standard product development process is costly due to the prior required technical knowledge that needs to be acquired. Besides, there is a trend to decouple the low level standard MCPTT support from the User Interface (UI), which needs to be tailored to the specific needs of each customer depending on the vertical sector, the geographical location and many other factors.
To cope with this issue, MCOP proposes an open platform in the client side that provides the software modules and internal APIs that are needed to build 3GPP Rel13 MCPTT clients. Since MCOP released its source code SDK and sample MCPTT APP, the project has gained considerable attraction in the market.

"Nemergent has been an MCOP supporter from the initial stages, powering the MCOP Online Testing System. The initiative was appealing for us due to its implications in the current and future market of mission critical communications, lowering the entry barriers and fostering the innovation," stressed Jose Oscar Fajardo, Nemergent Solutions CEO.
In the last months, Nemergent Solutions has reinforced its MCOP vision and has adapted its MCPTT client application to support the MUOAPI. With this strategic movement, Nemergent Solution embraces the adoption of MCOP as the de facto client-side API standard. "Moving to well-defined APIs such as MCOP allows us to integrate with other MCPTT stack providers and UE vendors, always fostering interoperability towards more open markets."
Fidel Liberal, the project coordinator of MCOP, said, "Nemergent has always expressed their interest in MCOP and has supported the project in the server side, assisting this way the MCOP client testing phases. The adaptation of their MCPTT client to the northbound API of MCOP deflects their full commitment with MCOP vision and philosophy,".

About MCOP
The MCOP project, funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the framework of the NIST/PSCR Public Safety Innovation Acceleration Program (PSIAP), aims to meet the challenges of the emerging and complex MCPTT ecosystem. The project, set to complete by mid-2019, will define, develop and validate an MCPTT client open platform that identifies neat open interfaces between the different technologies and reduce the integration efforts as well as a live and an online testbed for the applications. MCOP is led by the University of the Basque Country with partners Bittium, Expway and TCCA, supported by Nemergent.

Keeping your Payment options open, by Anderson Zaks

In emerging economies, people are by-passing traditional bank and card accounts and adopting mobile payments in the same way they have missed out broadband landlines ”

— Adina Ahmed, CTO, Anderson Zaks

BRACKNELL, BERKS, UK, November 6, 2018 / — EPOS, MobilePOS, Pin on Glass, Pin on Mobile – there’s a lot to choose from for today’s merchant. Adina Ahmed, Chief Technology Officer at Anderson Zaks explains some of the latest options.

Mobile phones have revolutionalised the way we live today. The way we communicate, watch TV and other online entertainment, and, the way we shop. The next obvious step, is the way that we manage our money and pay for goods and services. But these days, it isn’t just settling the bill in a restaurant, or buying something enticing in the sales, with contactless people are paying for their morning coffee, and with PSD2 and the associated deregulation, they will soon be able to make direct payments to each other. In many emerging economies, people are by-passing traditional bank and card accounts altogether and adopting mobile payments in much the same way that they have missed out broadband landlines – it’s a whole layer of infrastructure that they simply don’t need.

The payment market in China is a prime example where most people don’t have a credit or debit card, or plastic of any kind. They have leapfrogged straight to mobile apps and user friendly ecosystems that seamlessly blend social media, ecommerce, payment and other finance functions. Consumers in China now rarely carry a wallet or cash, and even buskers display a QR code so that people can leave tips.

Consumers in the UK, particularly younger people that are now coming into the workplace (millennials) expect to pay for everything contactless, many don’t carry cash. This presents a problem for the smaller retailer or merchant. How do they take payments without a full blown EPOS system? There are a whole range of options now opening up to merchants in the UK, and as evidenced in China, they don’t need a heavy IT implementation with all its associated costs, nor are they tied into long contracts with banks or card providers.

PIN on Glass (POG) solutions are already available in the UK. As the name suggests, PIN on Glass has evolved from the traditional PIN pad so that merchants can now use a touchscreen device to capture the PIN. There are a range of versatile devices, referred to as SmartPOS, that have been designed for this very purpose. Typically run on Android, they have additional security features baked in, a scanner for bar codes and QR codes, and can print receipts. The beauty of these devices is that they can run with a user-friendly app, enabling smaller merchants to operate using the device as a standalone solution, without the need to have a full blown EPOS solution.

These purpose built POG terminals connect directly to a bank, to accept payment. They are sleek and modern, and the apps that run on them are intuitive and easy to use for both staff and the consumer. The devices run with all current card technologies including swipe and contactless, providing an all in one solution so that the merchant doesn’t need a computer in the shop or at whatever location they need to take payments.

For independent software vendors (ISV), POG devices enable them to migrate their existing POS solutions to a smaller, portable device, opening up the market to much smaller merchants than they might have otherwise targeted.

At Anderson Zaks we are already working with several ISVs to incorporate our payment platform into their PIN on Glass solution.
